MAY 1, 2015

Beautiful spring day!  Thank you, Lord, for the sunshine here in Manistique, Michigan!.

Today is the day designated to remember St. Philip.  Philip was the Disciple who asked Jesus: “Lord, show us the Father and it is sufficient for us.”  And Jesus answered: “Have I been with you so long and yet you have not known Me, Philip?  He who has seen Me has seen the Father.”  (John 14:8-9-NKJV).  Philip preached in Greece, Syria and Phrygia.  Phillip died a martyr’s death; however, the details are not clear.  One tradition holds that he was beheaded in the city of Hierapolis.  In 2011 in Hierapolis near the Turkish city of Denizli a tomb was discovered that acheologists believe to be the tomb of St. Philip.
